Apex Athletic Performance offers fitness classes

Apex Athletic PerformancePalmetto Health-USC Orthopedic Center team leads fitness classes with three different options

Apex Athletic Performance, led by Palmetto Health-USC Orthopedic Center, is kicking off three fitness classes geared toward beginners, professionals and competitive sports individuals. Located at 903 Huger St., Columbia, South Carolina, the Apex team consists of physicians, personal trainers, physical therapists, certified strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists and researchers.

Apex fitness classes aim to increase strength, endurance and flexibility through cardiovascular, interval, circuit and strength training targeted to reach and exceed individual goals. The programs are designed to be implemented by Apex’s certified strength and conditioning coaches and functional movement specialists. Clients will train in an intense, fast-paced environment designed to foster a competitive spirit and drive to succeed. Apex’s facility is outfitted with the latest training and motion analysis equipment. Apex Athletic Performance recommends these programs for individuals who are cleared for intense exercise by their physician.

The three fitness class options are:

Body by Apex: Regain competitive edge, energy and overall health with a semi-private training program designed around your fitness goals. Coaches modify exercises to meet individual needs, and support of a small group promotes accountability, motivation and results. Best results are obtained with a commitment of one or two sessions per week for at least eight weeks. Each participant will receive an initial body assessment and final outcomes report at the completion of the course.

Grit: If you’re a weekend warrior seeing your competition getting faster and stronger, then this course is for you. We design sport-specific programs and/or training goals in a small group setting. Coaches modify exercises to meet client needs. Commitment to the program defines success in two or three sessions per week over an eight-week period. Athletes will use state-of-the-art equipment also used by world-class athletes to get you to the next level. Each client will receive an initial body assessment and final outcomes report at the completion of the course.

Power Hour: Turn your lunch into a Power Hour. These sessions combine the Body by Apex and Grit classes to accommodate working professionals trying to fit fitness into their already demanding schedules. Class will be a nonstop 45-minute session of sweat and determination to reach your goals. Best results are obtained with a commitment of one or two sessions per week for at least eight weeks.

Pricing is as follows:

  • $30 per session
  • Five sessions ($10 off) $140
  • Ten sessions (one free session) $270
  • Two times a week, three-month commitment (draft, free nutrition assessment) $200/month
  • Three times a week, three-month commitment (draft, free nutrition assessment) $300/month
