Rodney Fitzgibbon named SCAFP Student Educator of the Year

The South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians (SCAFP) recently named Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group physician Rodney Fitzgibbon, MD, of Northeast Family Practice, as the SCAFP Student Educator of the Year during its Annual Assembly earlier this month. Dr. Fitzgibbon was recognized as an excellent community-based family physician who has demonstrated his dedication to teaching medical students and sharing his enthusiasm for the specialty of family medicine.

Dr. Fitzgibbon is board certified in family medicine and has practiced in Richland County since completing his residency. He has become an integral part of the community, inviting numerous medical and nursing students into his office for elective rotations. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of South Carolina and completed his internship and residency at Palmetto Health Richland.
