Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery

About

Mark D. Locke, MD, received his medical degree from Case Western University Medical School in Cleveland. He completed his internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and his residency at Children's Memorial Hospital, both in Chicago, and completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta.

Dr. Locke is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Scoliosis Research Society. He is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy, has been named Best Orthopedic Surgeon in the Midlands by Best Doctors, and serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. His specialties and clinical interests include pediatric orthopedics, spinal deformity, scoliosis, and pediatric trauma.

“It’s great to be able to do things to help people with major problems and to do it safely. For pediatric orthopedics, you really have to understand the stresses and the other people involved; the dad, the mom, the grandparents, the coaches. So we have a whole family unit that you really have to identify, connect with and be there to support them.”
