About

Christopher W. Goodman, MD, received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia and completed his internship and residency at Emory University in Atlanta. His main administrative responsibility is medical director for the 10E inpatient teaching unit at Palmetto Health Richland, which involves nurturing an interprofessional quality-focused culture. His professional niche is within social medicine, interprofessional education and quality improvement. He advises the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School chapter at USC, volunteers with and serves on the board of directors for the Good Samaritan Clinic (a local non-profit free clinic system), and represents the SOM on the USC Interprofessional Education Committee. He is most excited about his current work with a team of faculty that will attempt to build the social determinants of health into medical education. He has presented posters on various topics at SGIM, Collaborating Across Borders and the Interprofessional Health Care Summit, and was honored as an inaugural 2016 inductee into the USC Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
