Jamee H. Steen, MD

Family Medicine


Jamee Steen, MD, has been practicing in the Columbia area since 1991. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington and completed her family medicine residency at Palmetto Health Richland, where she served as chief resident. After practicing at Northeast Family Practice as a private practice physician, she was recruited to teach at the USC School of Medicine, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, where she stayed for the next 13 years. As a clinician and teacher she received more than 20 teaching awards and was recognized statewide with The Halford Award for Leadership in Humane Education. During her time at USC, she held numerous leadership and administrative positions. With a desire to return to direct patient care, Dr. Steen then joined Senior Primary Care. In March 2015, she opened Ballentine Family Medicine, where she serves as medical director. Ballentine Family Medicine is co-located with Ballentine Family YMCA. Dr. Steen's clinical interests include chronic disease management, women's health, pediatrics, and health and wellness.
