Patrick J. McCann, MD, is a cardiologist with Palmetto Heart and a clinical assistant professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr. McCann earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield and completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Louis University Hospital. He also completed a clinical fellowship in cardiology at SLU Hospital and an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at the University of California San Diego.
Dr. McCann is triple board certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He is skilled in managing patients that require advanced therapies for heart failure, including left ventricular assist devices, biventricular assist devices and cardiac transplant.
Dr. McCann is director of Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital.
