About

W. Bret Smith, DO, MS, received his master's and medical degrees from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Doctors Hospital, Ohio University, in Columbus, Ohio, and completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus.

Dr. Smith currently serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, is board certified by the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. His specialties and clinical interests include total ankle replacement, bunion and hammertoe disorders, arthritis of the foot and ankle, deformity correction (Taylor Spatial Frame), charcot arthropathy, foot and ankle trauma, flatfoot and tendon transfers.
