Our affiliate system

We are building one organization with affiliates in two regions. Our parent company, now known as Prisma Health, supports both affiliates with overall direction and leadership as we continue to align. We will soon share one brand across the entire organization to better reflect this. Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group will be rebranded in late 2019 and will continue to operate as a joint venture between the Midlands affiliate and the USC School of Medicine.

Depending on where your travels take you, you may need certain vaccinations before leaving the states. Whether you are traveling globally for business or vacation, we can help you have a healthy and safe travel experience. The Palmetto Health-USC Family Medicine Center Travel Clinic is designed to help you travel as healthy and safely as possible on your international journey.

Pre-travel preparation

  • Travel-specific vaccinations
  • Individualized preparation for travelers with special needs such as:
    • Pregnancy
    • Diabetes
    • Emphysema
    • Heart disease
    • Immune deficiencies
  • International immunization certificates and documentation
  • Counseling on:
    • Mosquito and insect precaution
    • Food and water precautions
    • Altitude sickness
    • Jet lag 
  • Prescriptions for medicines for travel-related diseases such as malaria and traveler’s diarrhea

Personalized travel plan

The Family Medicine Center Travel Clinic will also provide you with a personalized travel plan complete with traveling advice, a customized travel report and a vaccination plan. We look forward to helping you take care of your travel health needs.

Vaccination services

Please bring any of your prior immunization records to the Family Medicine Center Travel Clinic.  For vaccination information required for the area you are traveling, please visit the Center for Disease Control website information for travelers.

Most immunizations require 4-6 weeks for full effectiveness.
