Taking care of our community

At Palmetto Health-USC Internal Medicine, we have been taking care of our community for more than 50 years, providing treatment of chronic conditions and acute problems.

Greg Talente, MDThroughout this time, our clinic also has served as a major site for educating students and residents of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and Palmetto Health Richland. As part of the Medical Group, we continue to provide excellent care and a wide expanse of treatment opportunities to meet our patients’ needs.

Patients choosing our practice are cared for by a single primary care resident physician, but benefit from the expertise of our larger team including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, case managers, counselors and patient access specialists.

Providing excellent medical care in comfortable office environments, our network team of physicians, advanced care providers, nurses and staff is prepared to answer any questions you have. We provide comprehensive medical care for short-term needs like annual physicals as well as ongoing management of chronic diseases. Prevention is a big part of your overall care plan. Should additional, focused medical treatment ever be needed, our doctors will refer you to a specialist and stay involved in your care. Only at Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group will you find the extensive level of expertise available from a wide variety of specialists.

Our affiliate system

We are building one organization with affiliates in two regions. Our parent company, now known as Prisma Health, supports both affiliates with overall direction and leadership as we continue to align. We will soon share one brand across the entire organization to better reflect this. Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group will be rebranded in late 2019 and will continue to operate as a joint venture between the Midlands affiliate and the USC School of Medicine.
