We provide around-the-clock coverage for adult and pediatric neurosurgical emergencies at Palmetto Health Richland's Level I Trauma Center and Emergency Department in Columbia, South Carolina. Along with treating local patients in Columbia, Lexington and across the Midlands, hospitals from 16 South Carolina counties send their most critically injured patients via ambulance or helicopter here.

We routinely care for a wide range of adult and pediatric neurosurgical problems, including treatment of brain and pituitary tumors, cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations, spinal tumors, and degenerative and developmental disorders of the spine and craniovertebral junction. The pediatric and neonatal intensive care units at Palmetto Health Richland and Palmetto Health Children's Hospital allow us to address the unique needs of children.
