Palmetto Health-USC Neuroscience at the forefront of research to expand treatment window for stroke

Palmetto Health-USC Neuroscience Stroke Center DEFUSE 3 research clinical trials

Palmetto Health Richland is one of 38 medical centers nationally and the only site in South Carolina that participated in the National Institutes of Health–funded DEFUSE 3 trial. The trial’s results were recently presented at the International Stroke Conference 2018 in Los Angeles, California and simultaneously published in the New England Journal of Medicine because of the implications it has for stroke patients.

Friday night lights and high school football will be starting again soon and Jalen Brown hopes to one day be back on the field. In the spring he wasn’t so sure he’d ever play again. Our affiliate system

We are building one organization with affiliates in two regions. Our parent company, now known as Prisma Health, supports both affiliates with overall direction and leadership as we continue to align. We will soon share one brand across the entire organization to better reflect this. Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group will be rebranded in late 2019 and will continue to operate as a joint venture between the Midlands affiliate and the USC School of Medicine.
