About our practice

At Palmetto Health-USC Pediatric Rehabilitation, we offer comprehensive consultation and outpatient rehabilitation services for children in Columbia, Lexington and across the Midlands region of South Carolina.

Currently under construction, the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital Pediatric Rehabilitation Center will be the state's first acute inpatient rehabilitation center solely for children and adolescents. Once open, our children and adolescents and their families needing these intensive rehabilitation services will no longer have to leave South Carolina.

Pediatric physiatrist Colleen A. Wunderlich, MD, MSc, is the medical director of the center. Wunderlich specializes in functional ability, offering medications, therapies and programs to restore skills and mobility to children and adolescents facing temporary or permanent disabilities and loss of function. Our goal is to develop a pediatric rehabilitation continuum of care to provide a seamless transition across different levels of care settings.
